Delicious smells waft from the kitchen to tempt your taste buds from the wide selection of homemade foods, catering for all tastes, including gluten free.
Combined with the cafe there is a Gallery that offers a collection of art works from all around New Zealand. The fire gives ambience and winter warmth whilst in warmer weather the tranquil outdoor eating area provides the perfect place to linger over lunch and a glass of wine.

The Paddock Café offers a fine range of food made on-premises. From custard squares to the soup of the day, or a warming hotpot, there is something for everyone, including gluten free. Rush Munroe ice creams are available in the cone. Local artwork adorns the walls.
There is a lovely enclosed area outside to enjoy on the fine days, and dogs are more than welcome. There is parking off street. Sit either inside watching the world go by or outside in our courtyard.

Mainline Station Café and Curiosities
Located in the historical Domett railway station, Domett, central North Canterbury. Serving breakfast, lunch and sweet treats. The Mainline station is a nostalgic stop halfway between Christchurch and Kaikoura & the perfect setting to re-charge and indulge.
Stretch your legs in the garden, shop our unique gift range or get lost in the endless NZR memorabilia that fills the building. There is something for everyone here. We are Child friendly, wheelchair accessible & offer gluten free options.
Open 6 days between 9am - 4pm, closed Tuesdays.

Cheviot Tearooms serves fabulous coffee, and has a wide selection of sandwiches, slices, cakes and pies. They make great milkshakes, thickshakes and scoop ice creams! You can also get cooked breakfasts, light meals including toasted sandwiches and have soup in the winter.

The Cheviot Four Square Supermarket is a busy modern store that is locally owned, managed and staffed. We have a vast range of fresh meats, fruit, vegetables, and deli products, and we stock a number of the major grocery brands. We are the only grocery store between Amberley and Kaikoura.

Harris Meats has operated in the Hurunui District since 1957. Originally starting as a corner butcher’s shop in Cheviot, we now operate a licensed abattoir and factory in Domett, and a butchers and delicatessen shop in Cheviot on Hall Street.
We supply meat to wholesalers, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and cafes, pubs, rest homes and other butchers throughout the top half of the South Island.
Our stock is sourced from the Canterbury area, with most of it coming from the North Canterbury district.
